The Comeback

After being on vacation and trying to get back on the wagon after falling off is so hard. In my last article, I spoke about how to get yourself back on that wagon and taking it slow. For me, that’s exactly what I was doing. Then I got back into the routine of going to gym every day, and started doing weight training again. I pushed myself so hard, way too early, and my muscles were sore for days.
 
Getting back into a routine takes more than a few weeks. We have to guide our bodies back into things. They say it takes 20 days of a steady routine for your mind and body to get used to the change. I am getting to that 20 day mark and I am feeling the pain. Some say pain is good, and you have to work through it. You have to learn to push and work through that pain, but I know it isn’t easy. Our bodies are all different and we have to find ways that work for each of us. 
 
This time around on my comeback, my aim is to be the fittest I have ever been. For the first time in years, I feel empowered again. My body is feeling so good and my mind is feeling good with it. It takes time to get to a place you feel great about yourself. 
 
Just remember that when you get back into your routine, take time to appreciate your body and enjoy it. The comeback is the time you feel the greatest you have ever been. Remember to own that body of yours and you will get right in place again!
